Playfully called “Blondes vs. Brunettes,” this third party, volunteer-driven event was started by Sara Allen Abbott, Ryan Triplette, Andrea Rodgers, Kristyn Noeth and their friends in Washington, DC in 2005 to help tackle Alzheimer’s. More than 10 million Baby Boomers will develop Alzheimer’s in the coming years. It is the 6th leading cause of death and a rising percentage of people are being diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s in their 30’s and 40’s.

Now in our seventh year, we have sparked other Alzheimer’s affiliated young professional groups around the country – such as Houston, Dallas, Austin, Columbus, Chicago, Buffalo, and Kansas City – to host their own games. Together over $2 million has been donated to the Alzheimer’s Association, just as the event is about to launch nationally later this year.

A goal of $125,000 has been set for the 2011 game. Players for this year’s tumble of the tresses include women leaders from a wide variety of professions, all with an unmatched dedication, passion, and spirit to make the impossible, possible.
